Frequently Asked Questions
End of service life (EOSL) refers to the time at which a specific device or software product is no longer supported by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). When a product reaches EOSL, the OEM no longer provides support or hardware maintenance.
EOSL generally falls after five years of the product’s obsolescence. You can no longer order a product once it reaches obsolescence. However, just because a device has been earmarked for EOSL, doesn’t mean that it has reached the end of its usable life and has to be replaced. Our Interactive Direct support service is designed to ensure EOSL devices continue to perform for your business as long as you need them to.
How long hardware lasts before it reaches end of life (EOL) may vary depending on the demand of the product. Some OEM’s EOL can be 7, 10 or even 15 years. Some organisations can have their own EOL policy. For example, a large organisation may have an EOL of 7 years from their date of system procurement. Our Interactive Direct support service ensures EOSL devices continue to perform for your business as long as you need them to.
