Our History
From a garage in Chatswood NSW to Australia’s largest privately owned IT Services company. Starting our journey in hardware maintenance, Interactive has continually transformed and expanded to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

1988 – 1990
From humble beginnings in a garage
Founded in 1988 by Richard Light and Murray Major, Interactive Pty Ltd was established to provide premier hardware maintenance support for IBM mid-range and mainframe computer equipment. One contract turned into ten and the evolution of Interactive had begun in earnest.

1990 – 2003
Expanding horizons
Driven by customer feedback, Interactive began to expand into business recovery services, and Intel-based servers and storage devices. Key partnerships were established with major vendors NetApp and Cisco, further expanding our support capabilities.

2003 – 2013
Breaking ground in cloud
Interactive commenced offering co-location and data centre services. Responding to customer demand, we moved into managed services and production hosting. In the early 2000’s, we launched into the cloud – creating our private cloud platform which has now grown to the largest private cloud in Australia.

2013 - 2018
Partnerships for shared excellence
Interactive attains Cisco Gold Partner Status. The launch of our reseller channel through Dicker Data further fuelled the growth of our hardware maintenance business.
Our strategic partnership with Telstra begins. Interactive provides hardware services to Telstra’s enterprise and government clients across the country.

2018 – Present
Protecting Australian businesses
2018 saw the acquisition of EraseIT. EraseIT offer data cleansing and asset disposal services. The integration of the two businesses enables Interactive to manage hardware throughout its life and then securely and safely dispose of it.
In 2019 we opened our own Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), providing 24/7 monitoring, detection and response services.
