End of Life (EOL): 

EOL is the point at which a vendor stops selling a piece of hardware. The product is no longer available for purchase, but it typically remains supported for several years afterward. Your organisation can continue running the hardware with full vendor support during this period.

EOSL consideration: As EOL approaches, EOSL typically follows soon after. That’s why it’s important to begin activating your post-EOSL strategy at the EOL stage. This may include evaluating third-party maintenance options, preparing internal support capabilities or planning a hardware refresh. Starting early helps ensure a seamless transition when vendor support eventually ends. 

End of Service Life (EOSL): 

EOSL is the point at which the vendor stops providing official support for the hardware. This means no further maintenance services, firmware updates, security patches, or guaranteed spare parts from the OEM. The hardware may still function normally. It’s at this stage that your organisation must make a decision on how to manage the hardware moving forward.  

When EOSL arrives, these are your options:
