Interactive launches sovereign Private Cloud to enhance control and performance for Australian organisations

The new platform delivers the agility of public cloud with the predictability of private infrastructure.

Interactive, one of Australia’s leading IT service providers, today announced the launch of Interactive Private Cloud, a sovereign, AI-ready private cloud platform designed to help Australian organisations take control of their infrastructure, reduce costs and enable AI innovation with confidence.

The launch comes as enterprises grapple with rising cloud costs, sovereignty concerns and the risks and complications that come with inflexible platforms. Research from ADAPT shows that one in four organisations are repatriating workloads from public cloud due to cost, compliance and control concerns, while 69 per cent of infrastructure leaders are investing in cost optimisation measures.

David Leen, Head of Cloud at Interactive, said enterprise IT leaders aren’t simply frustrated, they’re trapped.

“Today’s IT leaders are stuck with inflexible infrastructure and providers, and under pressure to deliver AI outcomes without the right foundation. Our Private Cloud is designed to change this landscape, combining the agility of public cloud with the assurance of sovereign AI infrastructure.”

Gabby Fredkin, Head of Analytics and Insights at ADAPT, said infrastructure, engineering and architecture leaders are being tasked with enabling transformation without the tools needed to execute effectively.

“Public cloud is a great place for experimentation, but it’s not always where you want to productionise AI,” added Leen. “When sustained, high-performance compute demands cause costs to balloon, many AI business cases start to unravel. Our AI-ready private cloud gives organisations a smarter alternative: the compute, control and transparency they need to scale AI responsibly.”

“Hybrid and multi-cloud complexity is increasing, and this reinforces the need for better workload placement and architecture aligned to business outcomes.”

Interactive Private Cloud supports hybrid models and long-term innovation, offering the scale and flexibility of a public cloud experience in a controlled environment, unlike traditional private cloud models. The platform offers an onshore solution that bypasses concerns around cloud migration, offering flexibility across customers’ needs and reducing risk. Features include advanced cooling strategies, cost predictability, with full compliance and security assurance.

Dan Cox, Chief Technology Officer at Interactive, said the new platform responds directly to customer demand for more adaptable, cost-effective infrastructure.

“Traditional workloads are increasingly strained by data demands, and organisations are increasingly scrutinising where and how their data is stored from both performance and compliance standpoints. At the same time, they’re trying to extract greater value from existing technology investments while balancing competing priorities across their businesses. If customers can receive an AI enabled cloud experience that can be deployed on prem, for 30% cheaper than a hyperscaler, that is game changing in today's market conditions.”

Interactive Private Cloud is part of the company’s broader Unite28 strategy, a deliberate shift from transactional services to long-term, purpose-driven collaboration with customers and partners. Alongside Interactive Anywhere, which enables consistent ICT management across public, private, and hybrid environments, the new platform reflects Interactive’s investment in sovereign capability, skills development and sustainable infrastructure.

“Being a trusted service provider today goes beyond delivering technology,” said Leen. “It’s about sharing in the customer’s challenges and building solutions that deliver real value. Interactive Private Cloud is designed to give Australian organisations the control, resilience and flexibility to focus on what matters most.”
