A reliable IT system is crucial to Live Group’s operations, as they need to ensure that if their systems go down or they lose data, the small companies and owner operators who rely on these payments still receive their money. As such, they required a robust IT system to provide POS transactions that would supply 24/7 support and high level reporting, but would also be cost effective.
Interactive’s solution provides both development and production environments for Live Group. The development environment has two virtual servers running, which is a replica of the production environment. This allows Live Group to not only develop new features, but also allows for them to test the functionality of changes and run their strict verification processes. Once the changes are verified they can then easily transfer them to the production environment. A fully managed firewall and Internet service is also provided by Interactive, dedicated entirely to Live Group’s environments. Interactive protects Live Group data in three different ways, ensuring that there are many ways to recover or restore data should a major failure occur. Interactive provides a level of redundancy far surpassing that of Live Group’s previous supplier, with a two hour response time to each of their Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth offices.
