Sydney Data Centre
The Sydney data centre is located in the commercial hub of St Leonards. The site is only 3km from North Sydney and 8km from the CBD with easy freeway access from most directions. There is nearby public transport as well as ample onsite secure parking.
The Sydney site is run by Brett Loutitt, an IT professional who has been managing data centres for 17 years. And just like our other sites, St Leonards is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and is protected by CCTV and a Building Management System. This ensures all personnel can only access authorised areas.
The total power available is 3.5MVA which is fed by a fully redundant 11kV ring fed from two independent switchboard rooms. This is backed up by an uninterruptable power supply, automatic battery failover and diesel generators for a fully redundant power service. The data centre regularly undergoes mains-fail testing to ensure the data centre remains operable under almost every circumstance.
Redundant communications networks are also in place, with wired and wireless links to all major telecommunications providers.
Interactives state of the art Sydney data centre features:
- The latest in cooling technolology including hot aisle containment and water-cooled chillers providing direct cooling to racks
- VESDA smoke detection with dual risk ionisation and photoelectric smoke detection systems to ensure early fire detection
- Gaseous Fire Suppression systems to provide instant fire protection
Onsite data centre engineers, nearby cafes, barista coffee and flight deck facilities are all available at St Leonards for your convenience. In addition, Interactive can also maintain your data centre hardware with our onsite spare parts and engineers to put you in the safest possible hands.
