100% Carbon Neutral Operations since 2008

All the carbon emissions from the running of our internal business operations are offset via carbon credits sourced from the Kadamane Small Hydro Power Project: carbon credits are purchased via Climate Friendly.

Interactive’s carbon emissions are assessed based on the recommended calculation methodology in the National Carbon Offset Standard (NCOS). The NCOS standard was issued by the Department of Climate Change in July 2010 and combines three prevalent global standards ISO 14064-1:2006, NGER Act, and Green House Gas Protocol.

Interactive’s emissions calculations include all Business Operations. Interactive’s Business Operations are defined as all activities performed directly by Interactive in the running and delivery of day-to-day business; including, electricity generation, heating, cooling, the running of all Interactive owned and operated IT systems and environmentals, staff travel and all other related emissions. NB: Customer owned computer systems housed within our data centres and associated environmentals are not included.

The Kadamane Small Hydro Power Project has been verified by accredited auditor SGS and follows the VCS standard, globally recognised as a leading carbon offset standard. Interactive’s retired carbon credits can be viewed on the Markit VCS Registry.

Other Initiatives

Interactive is continuously evaluating our business processes and implementing new measures to minimise our impact on the environment. From waste paper, packaging and metal recycling, to the emailing of Christmas cards with the print savings donated to Oxfam. Our offices also have smart power systems with energy efficient lighting. In addition, staff receive financial incentives if they purchase hybrid vehicles.
